energy. Service Provided by: Nadine Brown
Acupressure
This ancient art of Traditional Chinese Medicine is based on pressure points along each meridian that relate to the body’s internal organs. It was discovered thousands of years ago by the Chinese that rubbing or applying pressure to certain points relieved the pain. These same points are used in the practice of “Acupuncture”. There are 12 major “meridians” or “channels” that connect in one continuous circle of energy flow. Meridians are classified as either yin or yang and represent the principal pathways by which “Qi” or “life force”, blood and other body fluids are distributed around the body to provide nourishment and warmth. Meridians serve as vital links among the organs and maintain homeostasis in the body. When stress is intense or constant, it can cause our energy circuit to overload and create an imbalance of yin and yang. A disorder ion any given organ may be transmitted through the relevant channel, manifesting symptoms in regions along the meridian. Problems in an organ may be reflected in areas of tenderness, swelling, indentations, nodules or hyperemia. Acupressure opens up areas of imbalance or blockages in the body to restore the flow of Qi and blood.

Aromatherapy
Aromatherapy is the use of pure essential oils, extracted from plants to calm, balance, and rejuvenate body, mind, and spirit. Essential oils are highly concentrated extracts that contain hormones, vitamins and antiseptics that work on many levels. They are 75-100 times stronger than dried herbs. Aromatherapy is both an art and a science. Oils are blended to enhance therapeutic properties and benefits of the individual oils. Scents provide positive sensory feelings and emotions. The volatile oil from the plant is gently extracted from the plant, usually by a distillation method. They work topically and internally. Aromatic medicine was recorded in Egypt and India more than six thousand years ago. Massage oils, skin care, healing preparations, embalming, perfumes and cosmetology are some of the uses originated by the Egyptians. Essential oils can be used in a variety of methods such as diffusers, massage oils, and salt baths, to create the healing effect of aromatherapy.

Chakra Balancing
The Chakras, first mentioned in the ancient Vedas, the Hindu books of knowledge, is the name given to the seven main energy centers of our body. These swirling vortexes of energy regulate the energy flow throughout our bodies. These centres open and shut depending on what we are feeling and thinking. Chakras are not physical objects that can be seen, but they are an integral part of our life force keeping our whole mind and body working together. They are located at different points throughout the physical body and are associated with particular parts of the body. Every sense, feeling and experience is connected to a specific chakra.
When you are stressed about something, the chakra itself can become unbalancing and this manifests itself as illness in your physical body.
For your mind, emotions and physical body to be working together in total harmony, the chakras need to be spinning at the correct frequency. To become healthy again, or to maintain a healthy balancing, these chakras need to be balancing from time to time.
A Reiki Master can balance the chakras by sending healing Reiki energy to the client. The practitioner channels universal energy through the crown chakra and out the hands. The energy is received by the client and travels to the area most needed in the body. The practitioner may or may not lay hands on the client (varies with client preference). Hands are held over or on each chakra, for a period of a time. Sometimes, messages are received for the client from spirit guides around the client. The client may not notice anything is happening, but usually a period of deep relaxation is experienced, followed by a sense of peacefulness, vitality, clear-thinking and renewed hope or inspiration. Sometimes the client feels an emotional release and may feel exhausted, or on the other hand may feel revitalized and happy. Chakra balancing may help those going through stress, emotional issues, family crisis, loss, depression, confusion, illness or hopelessness. Reiki energy and chakra balancing is safe and comfortable for any age, pregnancy or illness.

Crystal Healing
Crystals have been used for a millennia as powerful healing and balancing agents. Today we know that all physical, intellectual, and psychic processes, all sensation, thought and feeling are chemical reactions within the body. These consume and create energy. Sometimes there can be too much or too little energy in the body. The crystals do their work by shifting energies and unblocking congested areas, releasing pain trapped in different centres, removing underlying energy imbalances that could lead to physical problems, and calming anxiety and fear which allows the body to heal itself.
